For € 23, 50 each month you can sponsor a child. Because the children live permanently at the children’s home and we make expenses for housing, education, nutrition, clothing and medication € 23, 50 isn’t enough to cover the costs for a month. For that reason the costs of one child is covered by several sponsors. You can choose which child you would like to sponsor and for what you would like to sponsor him or her.

• Education: from primary school till secondary school and vocational education

• Housing and clothing: a safe and clean living environment and sufficient clothing

• Nutrition and medication: enough healthy (warm) meals and medical care

If the child of your choice is already sponsored for all 3 expenses then you will receive an alternative sponsor child from us. As a sponsor you will receive a written report twice a year about the wellbeing of your sponsor child with a recent photograph and/ or a drawing.

Send and receive mail

If you decide to become a sponsor, you will receive a photograph and the history of the child. You will receive a new photo and two letters every year. You can also send a letter or postcard in English. Always state the name of the sponsor child along with the address. We advise you not to send any packages. They often don’t make it through Customs! Photos, drawings and stickers usually do arrive. We ask you to refrain from stating your personal address in the letters or on the envelopes. This ensures your privacy and avoids begging letters, which are very harmful for the development of the child.

Please keep in mind that it isn’t always easy for sponsor children to perceive the world like the sponsors do. That is why they sometimes find it difficult to respond to personal questions.

We sincerely hope that you keep sponsoring the child until it leaves the children’s home. If you, for one reason or the other should decide otherwise, please bear in mind that we have a 3 month term of notice

Duration of the sponsoring

The sponsor program is aimed at giving children the opportunity to grow up into independent young adults. In this process a vocational training plays an important part. As soon as this has finished the adolescent is ready to leave the children’s home. The staff help him/ her in finding a job. Just as everywhere in the world, this moment varies from person to person. One person may be ready when he/ she is 17 years of age, another studies until he/ she is 24. As soon as the education has finished you will receive an official notice.
