But sure we
enjoyed to spend time with the children. We visited them
almost every day when we were in Mombasa. We took our Kipu to
Nairobi with us. Kipu is the friend of Nathan and every time
we come in Kenya he enjoys us for the weekend. He is doing
well despite being a HIV child. He takes his medicins daily
and eats well. However you can see that he loosing some weigh
and have some spots on the head.
'The
children are doing fine. They are used to the volunteers and
you can see that some of them get very closed with a
particular volunteer. It is then heartbreaking to say goodbye.
Also some volunteers are going through hard times when they
return home and have to get back to real life. Some times it
is hard to deal with the European life again. Also for us when
we are back in Holland it is hard to be that busy again. In
Kenya we have our Steve who takes good care about us. Back
home it is all on our shoulders again and that is a lot to
manage, the home, the business, the children and house. We
have seen only rain since we are back here and therefore this
time we miss Kenya a lot.
We are very
happy and gratefull for the visitors who are coming from
England and visit the home. They are overwhelming us with
goods from England, groceries, food and all kind of usefull
gifts for the home. We set a lot apart, cause we dont want our
children to spoil the clothes all at once, and whevever they
need something we give them from the store where we keep all
our gifts. However we are right there starting a project to
give out what we dont need for ourselves to the poor children
in the slums and villages. Vincent is visiting the villages,
notice all the familys who need urgent help and put them on a
list. Children living with grandparents, sick parents get our
attention and help. Those who need to be admitted to our home
will be taken in as soon as we can accommodate more children.
We
want to thank two people from England who have been a great
support to us lately. They have visited our home already 6
times and are
coming back in November. We now respect them a part of our
family, Brian and Edna Elliot. They have sent many visitors to
the home who have also brighten up the lifes of our children
and many more, those who will be soon visited in the village.
Iam planning to come in October and will start of the project!
Edna and Brian we want to thank you for all your efforts and
hope we will be blessed with your visits and those you sent us
now and in the future when Lioness Cubs Home will grow bigger.
Thank you so much for your supporting emails and words.
Thanks to
all the volunteers who have been helping us since we started
to work with them. There have been hundreds now in the
meanwhile. Thanks to all the ex volunteers who still encourage
us with their donations and words. We are looking forward to a
bright future cause beginning of 2007 we start with building
an orphanage!
