The orphanage is founded in 2002 and registered in Kenya as a NGO and in the Netherlands as a foundation. 

 

The chairlady and founder is Irene Okech-Haneveld.

                                                    

 

The treasurer is Edna Elliott. Edna is giving efforts to maintain the orphanage for years .

She is visiting teh orphanage several times a year with her husband. Edna Elliott is a very
respected moderator at a known travel forum. She encourage visitors from England to visit the orphanage and these visitors are bringing food- clothes and toys for the children. Edna is a very great support to the home.

 The staff in the orphanage:
                                            

Cecilia: manager of the orphanage. She is responsible for working with children department in

Kilifi department, maintenance of accounting records and contact person between the boardmembers

and orphanage.

Margaret: joined us in November 2008 and now is the house mother to assist in the household

and caring for the children. Margaret is 25 years and has two children aged 5 and 7 who live with
her mother. Margaret lives in the orphanage.

Mary is our newest addition. She is the cook and will cater for the meals the orphanage and assist
the other ladies in the household. Four ladies taking care of the wellfare of the children and the

home to be clean.

Betty does the laundry and also helps with the general housetasks.

Frances is our gardener who maintains gardens around the orphanage.
He teaches the kids gardening. Thus, they started planting vegetables! Frances has children but
lives alone near the orphanage.

Pande our toothless ... guard. He guards the orphanage six nights a week ...with a slingshot.
Pande course knows what to do in case of trouble. Pande has 9 children.
